Welcome to the Colorado Space Grant
Consortium (CoSGC) Hermes CubeSat webpage. Hermes is the first
CubeSat under construction at the CoSGC headquarters at the
University of Colorado in Boulder. The CoSGC CubeSat program,
known as CO3 (Colorado Cubed), hopes to use Hermes as
the starting point for an extended program of CubeSats. Ideally,
there will always be two CubeSats under development at any time
with one launching each year.
The Hermes CubeSat is built
in accordance with the specifications set forth by the CalPoly
CubeSat Foundation and is currently in its Critical Design Phase
with the Critical Design Review (CDR) to occur in mid-July,
Launch is currently planned for the third quarter of 2008
aboard a Dnepr rocket launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in
Kazakhstan with an inclination of 98 degrees and an orbital
altitude of about 700km.
*** Thank you to all who attended
website is currently under construction. Please check back often
as it continues to be updated. It is our hope that this website
will actually provide useful and detailed information about our
project that is both easy to understand and technically specific
enough to help other CubeSat designers. Feel free to contact us
if you have any questions or would like more information.
