As result of the COVID-19 pandemic, RockOn 2020 was cancelled. Out of an abundance of caution, NASA and COSGC is making RockOn 2021 a virtual workshop. Participants will be sent kit hardware and any equipment needed to to complete their kit with their team or by themselves. Teams and individuls will complete most of this workshop at their own pace but there will be live aspects to the experience. See current agenda for more details. If after reviewing these details, proceed with the registration.
THIS WORKSHOP IS AMAZING! If you want proof, look at the pictures from the workshops in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. You will build a REAL sounding rocket payload then LAUNCH it on a two stage Terrier-Orion rocket (weather permitting). The logistics associated with the RockOn Workshop are even greater now that it will be remote so we need an accurate count on the number of participants before January 31, 2021. Space is limited and your registration does not hold your spot until payment is received. The $999 registration may seem large (it was $1699 several years ago) but it includes everything needed to complete the workshop. There is a ~10% fee charged for credit card payments. Participants will work in teams of three. If teams are unable to work safely together, please indicate this when you register. Each team will build one RockOn payload. Participants pick their teams and participants will decide how to divide up the provided hardware before the conclusion of the workshop. There is no travel associated with this workshop but every key event will be live streamed.
The workshop is open to all interested with the following conditions:
1. Participants MUST know how to solder and MUST have practiced before attending the workshop.
2. Participants MUST be familiar with the Arduino programming language. All the code is provided during the workshop so don't let this deter you from coming to the workshop.
3. Workshop is designed for college students and college faculty. If you are a high school student or faculty, please register but Chris will reach out to you with more details.
