THIS WORKSHOP WILL BE AMAZING! If you want proof, look at the
pictures from the workshops in
2010. You will build a REAL sounding rocket
payload then LAUNCH it on a two stage Terrier-Orion rocket (weather permitting). The logistics
associated with the RockOn Workshop are great and we need an accurate
count on the number of participants before May 3, 2011. Space
is limited and your registration does not hold your spot until payment
is received. The $1,500 ($1575 if
paying by credit card as we are charged a 5% fee) registration
may seem large but it includes: a hot breakfast and lunch each day of
the workshop, a special dinner on the last
day, workshop handbook
and DVD-ROM, a shirt, all RockOn payload materials, and launch costs.
Participants will work in teams of three. Each team will
build one RocketSat. Participants pick their teams and
participants will decide how to divide up the provided hardware before the
conclusion of the workshop. Each participant MUST be present on the first
day (Saturday, June 18, 2011 10:30 AM) for the start of the workshop. Please
2011 Travel Page for more information.
The workshop is open to all interested with the following exceptions:
1. Participants MUST know
how to solder and have practiced before
attending the workshop.
Participants MUST be familiar with the
C and/or C++
programming language. After registration, a pre-workshop test will be
sent and will be required to be successfully completed by each person before the
workshop. However, all the code is provided
during the workshop so don't let this deter you from coming to the workshop.
Participants MUST be a
U.S. citizen. Due to security requirements at Wallops Flight Facility, U.S. citizenship is required. If you are
not a U.S. citizen, please contact
Chris Koehler before proceeding.
day is scheduled for June 23, 2011 but the back-up date is June 24,
2011. Please plan accordingly.
